How it works
Drop the PDF, choose a level, press Compress PDF and download. Light removes waste without touching content. Balanced re-renders pages at 144 dpi, usually 60 to 90% smaller for scanned or image-heavy files. Strong goes to 96 dpi for the smallest result.
Because Balanced and Strong turn each page into a picture, the text can no longer be selected or searched. Use Light for contracts and text documents you still need to search; use Balanced or Strong for scans, forms and anything with photos.
Questions
Why did Light barely change the size?
Light only rewrites the file structure. If the PDF is mostly images, the images are what take the space, and only Balanced or Strong shrink them.
Can it open password-protected PDFs?
Not yet. Remove the password in your PDF viewer first.
Is my document safe?
It never leaves your device. The processing uses the browser's PDF engine, the same one that displays PDFs in Chrome and Firefox.
